So I thought I would let you guys know I FINALLY got the faceplate off the DVD drive that came with the 7811fx. The faceplate was really on there, I thought I was seriously going to break the little plastic clips on there. The dv7t faceplate came off relatively easily, so I was pretty happy about that :) . Now I just need to buy a Bluray movie, lol. Any recommendations for good 1080p movies? Do I need any drivers to watch movies? Thanks guys :)

oh btw, the dvd drive that came with the 7811fx would have a hard time closing but now the bluray drive has no trouble at all :)

You will need blu-ray player software as Vista does not include a codec for blu-ray.

The Spiderman movies are really great looking if you are looking some good discs.

I think he took one from his family members computer.

Newegg has the correct drives though,

I believe that is it, the 7811 uses SATA interface correct?

Thanks guys :) Now I never bought this drive I just switched out my dvd drive with my fathers bluray drive on his hp dv7t. The drive that is in there is an, Optiarc BD ROM BC-5500s. I had to also switch the little metal latch's or I couldn't screw the drives back in place. Face plates switched out well no problems at all, except it was an absolute pain to get my 7811 faceplate off! Also, when i booted up vista automatically installed some drivers. It seems to be working great with normal dvd's, read rates are pretty fast :D . About those bluray movies, it's between "Live Free or Die Hard" or "Transformers" :)

Transformers, some of the best sound in any movie to date although it isn't released until Sept 2 in my area.

    Grats on the upgrade!

good thing I have a PS3 right beside my lappy, no need for bluray, although the playing of *legal* bluray and MKV files looks spectacular.

You can use the latest PowerDVD software to play Blueray or HD-DVD. That should be the only thing left. Then you will be in High-Def heaven. You can even plug your laptop via HDMI into LCD/Plassma TV or projector and watch it on a big screen. Welcome to High-Def world. Once your there, you'll never go back.

It should, only problem (if you care for this sort of thing) is that you won't be able to use the color scheme matching drive cover.

When you get a new drive you use your panel on the new drive so if it will work it will be the same.
