    I've got a 7805u running windows 7.
I was getting random restarts and blue screens while playing games and while running utorrent.
Normally, I turn on utorrent to download/upload while Im sleeping, and its the only program running. Every morning I would wake up, and my welcome screen would be on because there was a restart or blue screen.

I've monitored my temps, and they are normal. Fan will kick on at 80c, but then will cool down during game play. Its a new computer, and the vents are not clogged up. It's sitting vertically- so there is plenty of air flow. (this was happening when it was horizontal too)

I flashed my bios today to the 9c.20, and now I can hardly play a full match of call of duty without it going to a blue screen.

I updated my gpu driver to nvidia's latest, then reverted back to the 182.46 driver.

I'm not sure how to read the blue screen details, but ANY help any information would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!!

Here are the blue screen details:

Well, I'll try going back to 9c.17...but BEFORE I flashed to 9c.20, I was still getting blue screens and shut downs- but not as much.
I'm not sure what I was using before 9c.20, but I guess I'll flash back and post my results.
    Thanks guys.

hmm this could be hardware failure of some sort i would try testing the memory by taking one stick out and see if it runs fine with it if not then take the other out and put the second one back in and test that (make sure the slots are clean also. youd be surprised at how a little dust can cause lots of problems). if it still doesnt work then start testing your other hardware (make sure you also test both ram sticks with something like memtest 86)

i have come across that error before (twice) and in both cases it was the ram but it is posible it could be something else

also fans kicking in at 80c isnt normal my p7805u has never reached that temp. my maximum temp ive ever had was 75c and that is extremely rare usually no higher then 72c (this is gpu). my cpu temps maximum was somewhere in the 60s (i think) but thats with my x9100.

how new is the computer? if you can i would just take it back if your having problems already and it not being old.

QFT it is amazing the lengths people will go to mess up an exceptional stock system.

Its actually a refurb from Renovate. And this is my second one. The first one wouldn't work when the AC adapter was plugged in, but worked fine on battery power.
I'm not sure how many times Renovate will let me send in "broken" laptops, hopefully as many times as they send me broke ones. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Thanks for your suggestions.

These are the type of peanut gallery comments of why I hate posting to forums. If you read my OP, I was having problems even before I flashed to 9c.20....I didn't just flash to 9c.20 cause I was bored.

When I was younger I used to think that if Ii I flash the BIOS, then I would get additional 21322131123fps. NO NO NO. If everything works, then leave it or save money for new stuff.

20 or 23 let heat build up more inside, there is no way they can be more stable. If you have a stability issue those are the bios versions to avoid at all costs.
