Do yall know maker is for your monitor? Wheter its LG or AOU? To find out.. follow this process.

    Start>Control Panel
    Click System & Maintenance
    Click System
Click Device Manager on upper left
    Double Click Monitors
    Double Click Generic PnP Monitor
    Click Details Tab
Select Hardware IDs from the drop down box

It will say MONITOR\xxxxxx where xxxxxx is the monitor type. It will begin with AUO or LG.

Also.. Any1 know the dimensions of a 7801/7805 LID in inches? Tryin to make a custom skin for it.

I have an AUO 1920x1200, the monitor is great though. This is the only monitor I've ever seen that can make stretched low resolution pictures look good.

The LG apparently doesn't have the light bleeding problem that the AUOs do. That to my knowinger is the only diffrence as both owners say their screens look really good.

I've actually dug up LG's. You're lucky if you've got no light bleeding. they're almost the same.

which reminds me, i need to update that batch number post.

hmm.. i have LG one.. though mine is 7805u..
so far, the screen is perfect. no dead or stuck pixel, no backlight problem, no blotch, nothing.
but my first 7805u which i don't know it was LG or AOU had horrible backlight problem that would render 1/3 of screen white on black background. apparently, this was
a common issue for 7805u or 7801u owners but i immediately returned it to best buy and asked for new one.
lucky for me this second one has perfect screen and i am
    very happy with it. ;)

7801u was delivered from Newegg last night (some issues are detailed in my thread) with an AUO panel. from the 5mins I got to spend working with it in a mode other than DOS style boot screens I would say it's nice, my only complaint being some backlight bleed at the bottom of the screen. I'll be putting the Sypder to it in the next night or two to see if I can get the colors under control....

    AUO here.
There was an obnoxious milky band at the bottom of the screen yesterday, about 1 cm wide, but it disappeared overnight.
