I bit the bullet and spent $12.00 for the Express port flush USB addapter. Come to find out these provide ample power for most USB 2.0 devices on their own. It powers my USB sticks, charges my phone, runs a 320GB WD drive in an enclosure and wireless mouse without any issues.
So now I get an additional 2 ports with the added advantage of USB 3.0 if I need it in the future. The disadvantage is I don't think we can use this to restore the OS as I doubt the drivers load up by default. It is nice that they are flush as well.
The thread I got the info from is below. I have been on the fence about getting one but decided finally to get the newer AKE 398B version as now they use a low power chip and do not get that warm anymore. I was on the fence as the early ones I had heard ran warm and there were posts around about a few warped plastic panels. This new one seems to run nice and cool as I have not noticed any additional heat.
So for a short term report, two thumbs way up..................

Hi TANWare!
Thanks for the report mate. Did you experience any problems with the drivers? (stock cd was ok?)
Also, i found these 2 links that both claim they are the BC398 card:
USB 3.0 2 Port Express Card 54mm Notebook Adapter BC398 New | eBay
USB 3.0 2 Port Express Card 54mm Notebook Adapter BC398 | eBay
which one should I trust?
Cheers! -

Sorry, I'll see if I can get around to it. Right now my hands are full with Windows 8. It has some extremely strange behaviors................
For those P7xxx's needing more USB ports
