I'm just being anal, but, after following the instructions on this forum to do a fresh install (i deleted both partitions the c and d recovey partition). I can no longer access the gateway recovery center (GRC) from all programs. Based on the user manual this is the way to return everying back to factory conditions.

Not a big deal, but, is there anyway I can go back to how my computer was before the fresh install (this is in case I ever want to return everything back).

    Thanks.

You deleted the recovery partition, unless you made recovery CD's (dont know if you can do it with gateway, you can with HP.) your out of luck with going back to factory settings. Besides why would you want 100 free AOL trials??

Did you save a file called windows.old, if so this is a copy of your old system. When you use the disk to start a clean install, it asks if you want to create this file.

I created a recovery disc which is essentially the same thing... not a big deal.

I followed directions in another thread that said it's best to just delete both partitions and have just one big one. I figured the recovery discs would let me put everything back to normal... not quite though.

    Thanks anyway.
