Could you offer any advice on how I go about getting my P6860FX drivers. I found some drivers on the gateway website but I still don't have quite a few things working like Keyboard extra keys (media button, brightness level, etc) and also I now have extra drives that were never there before (removable).
    Thanks

I would download all the drivers from gateway that you think it might be, and install one at a time untill you find it. I am sure you know which ones you do have installed, so that leaves just a few. I know all the fresh installs I have done, its the media reader, Blue tooth, sata driver, intel raid driver, or the realtek lan driver. I bet you ;)

I have now downloaded all the drivers from gateway. The intel raid driver is giving me problems installing, saying my hardware dosent meet standard required to install. Also, I'm constantly getting an error with my sound driver, sta??? file cannot work properly.

    any further help?

thanks so far for your help.

Which vist do you have 32 or 64bit?
You can get the raid driver off the gATEWAY SITE TOO, OR CALL GATEWAY SUPPORT, AND ASK THEM WHERE TO DOWNLOAD IT

I would like to thank everyone who offered their help, especially Flynnaz. I ended up taking the laptop back to best buy and getting a replacement P6860. I know better now, already backed up the drivers and apps under the gateway recovery. When I get a day I will reinstall the OS and use the recovery disk to reload my drivers.

When speaking to the Best Buy/Geek Squad member he also told me of a problem with the Gateway laptops they are selling and that is the USB2.0 driver from gateway not working correctly. Maybe that was my problem. Hopefully it won't happen on my next fresh install.

    Thanks.
