Hello, I am hoping that someone could help me out. Just fried my motherboard. It is a Gateway FX P-7815u which is a MS2232 same as probably P-7805u P-7809u. The location of this fried mosfet is the bottom side need the GPU FAN is under the black vinyl tape. there is a mosfet next to it that I found out is a AO4407A a - MOSFET P-CH -30V -12A 8-SOIC
if anyone can find out or can tell me what the burnt mosfet markings on it is so I can order a replacement that would be really helpful. and can you tell me which direction it should be mounted the same way or opposite as the mosfet next to it. a PIC if possible would be really helpful if it is not too much trouble.

    my email is [email protected]

    Regards,

    Van

Probably made in China somewhere. Also the first photo shows a lot of damage to adjacent parts. Are you sure that that one chip is the only one damaged?

I wouldn't know where to start. Maybe contact a chip maker in Taiwan?

just the one chip on the right of the 4407A is damaged and 1 capacitor on the other side of the board. the one square chip has glue residue thats all.
so I'm just wondering if the burnt chip with the 8 legs is just another 4407A
with I already ordered 4 of from digikey. its a AO4407A hopefully they are both the same chip so I can just replace the fried one but just need confirmation that it is in fact 2 of the 4407A in that area
