I was playing Dead Space and noticed the GPU felt like it was throttling. Running GPU-Z I'm seeing 95-100 Celsius under load and 66 idleI was going to try the compressed air thing, but is there any way to get at the fan itself? (I'm assuming its the upper left vent (as I type)?
Also, I ran a quick Prime95 and my CPU is idling at 57-62 and load max is 92 Celsius. I'm not *quite* as worried about that as I am the GPU, but I could fry an egg there as well...
Thoughts are welcome!

This is very odd. When I used to play Dead Space on my 6831FX, it was the only game in my vast selection that would actually regularly shut down my computer to the point where I could no longer play it and uninstalled it.
I never realized Dead Space was that intensive on the GPU.
I'm not sure what model laptop you have, but you can get to the GPU fan after some disassembling. It's a bit of a tedious process, but there's a sticky up top that will give you step by step instructions on how to disassemble your laptop to get to the GPU fan itself. I replaced the fan on my GPU just a couple days ago and let me tell you, I wish I could've avoided doing it at all costs. -
Make sure you are using a cooler or atleast propping it up... use compressed air and aim the nozzle to push air towards the outward flow of the fan

My laptop is a p-7805u FX. I'm assuming you mean blow the air into the intake vents on the bottom not into the exhaust vents? I'm also going to buy some rubber stick on furniture feet to prop it up.

OK got it under control. The compressed air plus a Targus Chill Mat has brought my Prime95 temps from 92c to 73c. My ingame load for the 9800m from 100c to 65c.
I think the compressed air did most of the work. Lots of little particles came out the exhaust, no chunks or anything but apparently that was enough. -

did you use the compressed air while the computer was running or turned off? i'm getting high temps with my gpu now and i'm pretty sure its because of dust.

you may eventually want to replace the thermal paste on the gpu and cpu, my 7811fx was idling around 60 degrees celcius, after applying OCZ freeze, it was idling about 40. similar result in games as well

I blew out my cpu and gpu with compressed air and wow what a difference, I was idling at 50 cpu and 60 gpu, now i'm idling 30 cpu and 42 gpu, there was so much dust to come out of the vents lol. I have Arctic silver 5 from my desktop but I just dont feel like tearing this laptop completely apart until I upgrade the cpu. I would like a t9900
GPU Running Very Hot
