    GPU heatsink has no contact with the gpu memory

    i was taking apart two p7805u to apply artic silver 5. :cool: after i got to the gpu part, i noticed that the gpu heatsink has a big gap between the memory. at first i thought it's only one of p7805u is like that. after i took apart the other p7805u and no surprise, the gpu has a big gap between the memory too. :p base on the desgin of the gpu heatsink, it's suppose to have contact with the memory to cool. wonder if that's normal or not. :confused: here is two pic of the part i circled that gpu has no contact of.

    maybe metal to chip contact (even fleeting) is enough to cool the memory. If you are bold try slapping some thermal goop on the heat sink so it makes good contact and see if you can boost your memory clocks further (or you know cool them better :p )
