Hello, my laptop hard shuts down very frequently whenever I play any games. This includes the older game Neverwinter Nights which I play on my linux hard drive and also on Fallout 3 which I play on my Vista hard drive.

Is this a problem experienced by other people and is there a solution? The p-6831 FX has an 8800 GTS 512MB inside it. Thanks.

I downloaded ntune and see there is an area to manually control the gpu fans, but the buttons for the fan control are all gray....I can't click anything on that section.

Is there a better program or how do I make it so I can manually control my GPU fan speed with the nvidia control panel?

Sounds like you're overheating. Test your temps & clean your fans out...
