    Hi Everyone,
    I've had my 7811 since mid September with no issues. I bought it basically with one premise. To play GTA4 PC online with it. What is everyones thought on the 7811's 9800M GTS. Will it play GTA4 at fairly high settings? I have my pre-order in and am anxious yet wondering if the GPU will handle it. Thanks ahead for input.

    Its not the GPU you will need to be worried about from what I understand...
    I have read here that the recommended specs for GTA4 will be a quad CPU...
    Im hoping that is just rumor but it has been reported that this game will be running comfortably on 3 year old machines, I dont think you need to worry too much though with your set up

    Everything i have read thus far about GTA4 will be more CPU limited then GPU.its looking like and im guessing because of all the physics going on ie the euphoria engine, which will be somewhat of a CPU hog. Some of the recommended specs were Quadcore but its hard to say at this point if any of thats true .Im sure we will see in the next week and a half some good previews on the game from say IGN and the like as to what rigs there running the game on and what kind of performance there getting.

    Minimum System Requirements

    * OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3
    * Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz
    * Memory: 1.5GB, 16GB Free Hard Drive Space
    * Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900

    Recommended System Requirements

    * OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3
    * Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz
    * Memory: 2 GB (Windows XP) 2.5 GB (Windows Vista)
    * 18 GB Free Hard Drive Space
    * Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870

    Not really that bad, Given the recommended is an 8600 graphics wise
    and a low power core duo can run it, so at least there's hope.

    Those are desktop specs, but in fairness they are relatively weak desktop specs. Theres lots of other games that have released much more aspiring specs.
    I'd say if anything it will be more taxing on the ram, (such a large sandbox) Chances are those gpu specs are modest, very modest. So thats where I'd be getting worried.

    GTA IV's released requirements are a bunch of crap. On the P-7811 FX you'll more than likely be able to run the game on high settings at a high resolution. I've predicted in the past that GTA IV would run smoothly under a Pentium-M 760 and Geforce 6800, although probably on lower settings. I have no doubt that will be the case since one of those machines is roughly on par with the Xbox 360. The P-7811 FX is a major step up from that so you'll have plenty of extra power to turn up the settings. You might not be able to max everything out, but I'd bet you'd get better performance that what most people would expect given the specs that have been released so far.

    Yeah but the xbox renders a very small screen then merely upscales that. On a pc/lappie you'll be stressing the gpu much more as it renders the whole image. So assuming you want a decent quality (otherwise why bother running it on a computer) you'll need a decent quality gpu.

    How do you find out the benchmarks for a certain model computer, I habe the 7811 and am curious what that is all about.
