    Hello gamers,

When I play Cysis or Mass Effect, if running full screen, I loose the mouse cursor in the menus. I have slide the 'invisible' mouse cursor all over the place and watch for a menu item to light up. If I play them 'windowed' the cursor is there.

However, when I play Call of Duty 4 or 5 I have no trouble running them full screen. The mouse cursor is there and I it's not a guessing game to try an navigate the menus.

    Any ideas???

What model do you have? I think the first thing to do would be to update your video card drivers.

I have a p-7801u. Only had it for 2 weeks and I'm still using the drivers that came installed on it when new.

Thanks for the suggestion. I should have thought of that.
I'll update them and see what happens.

I had an issue on my 7811 when I would try to run games in XP compatibility mode. The Cursor wouldn't appear at all in some games like City of Heroes.

Are you running any of those games in a compatibility mode?

    That is bizarre.

Looking at other forums quickly in google for an answer for you, one thing that popped up was to make sure your shortcut on the desktop is targeting the right file. Not sure how this could even happen but some people said they corrected the targeted file and the cursor shows up everywhere now.

The other thing people have done with your issue is just do a clean install of vista, which also seems to help. I would view this as a last resort--I like to try out every other possibility first, but it may be the quickest solution.
