First list your problems in a detail manner. are you trying to play older games or you cannot play 'newer' games so you try to run old ones? did you get the reference drivers from gateway for your X600? did you install directx 9.0c before playing games? Did you get error messages? or the game runs choppy? State your problem clearly and we can help.

The last 5 games I've loaded seemed to load fine, but when I try to run them they either freeze at the logo screen or crash to the desktop. No error message.
Vietcong is my current frustration. Here are the minimum req:
    700MHz P3 or 4 or AMD Athlon
    16x cd-rom 1.8gb hd space
    256mb ram
32mb video card directx 8.1 compatible
    directx 8.1 compatible sound card.

Could it be the sound card?

Also tried: CSI:Miami, Terminator, Myst III-Exile, Mafia.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I'd probably reinstall the video drivers - maybe try different ones. I use the video drivers from www.omegadrivers.net, they work great! Good performance boost from them too.

If that doesn't work, then try turning off your Antivirus or antispyware - sometimes they block the games.

I tried those omega drivers and there was no change. Gateway tech help urgerd me to uninstall them and update drivers from their website again. Still no change. I will try disabling Norton next. Thanks for the suggestions.

Disabled Norton and still couldn't run the games. I have Dx9.0c installed. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
