My grandson's hard drive died on this laptop. Unfortunately, he cannot locate the restore disk. Does anyone have a copy or know where I can purchase just the driver disk for this laptop. Tried ordering from Gateway and after 3 weeks, I called them and they "lost the order". Kid needs the laptop for summer school. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Howard :)

    Hi beepee,

If there is anyway you can email a zip or ISO file of just the restore disk, it would be greatly appreciated. I'd be willing to pay a few bucks for a copy of the disk.

    Thanks,
    Howard

I'm assuming you want the driver disk for ease of installation, right? Are you comfortable downloading each driver individually? Do you have the XP disk that came with the system or are you planning on doing a plain vanilla install?

I'll take snything I can get to get this computer up and running. I don't have the original XP disk but have a copy of XP Pro that I intend to use. Guess "plain vanilla" install is correct.

Non of these drivers apply to original restore software. I replaced fried hard drive and apparently, I need special Gateway driver to get up and running. That's why I need an original restore disk.
