I have a Gateway 3520GZ, which I recently purchased from Best Buy. I already upgraded the RAM module to a 512MB, which brings physical memory to 768MB RAM. Also replaced 60GB 4,200 RPM hard drive with a 60GB 7,200 RPM drive. However, I was curious to see if the Centrino 1.6GHz CPU could be upgraded to let's say a 1.8 or 2.0GHz since it's the same socket. I'm very familar with upgrading desktops, and figure the laptop can be upgraded as well since it's the same socket. Gateway says no, but I'm wondering....I'm not so sure I trust their answer.
