    Gateway 400 Sd4 HELP URGENT!!!!

    I have a Gateway 400sd4 for about 4 years right now.. And i have a big probelm. One of the little pieces where u connect your charger , broke off, so what i did there was a computer shop that was selling old notebook motherboards and i bought one for 20 bucks, then i took that motherboard welded the pieces off then welding it into my gateway 400 sd4. after that i put my commputer back together. test the charger if it works and it did. Then this is when the problem comes. When i start the computer All it dose is the fans spin and the cd drives trys to read a disk or something, but the screen says black, its dosent turn on or anything.. Can anyone help me thx :(

    Ok, now it attempts to load right? But the screen doesnt come on? Maybe an LCD issue, I know that you probably don't want to hear this but, Maybe it is time for a new laptop? If that is so, I would be glad to help you find one, there are all kinds of prices, $550(i don't know ho good it would be haha) to $6000! So if you need help let me know, a 4 year old Laptop, is probably pretty outdated.
