    Gateway 400SD4 Memory Upgrade HELP!!

    Gateway site says the 400SD4 can be upgraded to 1 GB RAM. I put two 512's in and the system will not boot up, never gets to the bios or set up. If I take one of the boards out the system will boot. I have upgraded the BIOS, with no change. Seems they lied and it will only accept up to 512MB RAM

    where did you see that it will accept 1Gb? Everything I have seen says it is capped at 512Mb. I thought I saw someone post somewhere that there was a new bios that would allow for the 1Gb, but I can't find it.
