Hi, i'm new to messing around with laptops let alone trying to upgrade one. I was running into so many issues with windows Vista an recently one of its updates killed my whole system. My only options left after messing around with it for 2 weeks was to USB my hard drive an format it or buy a new hard drive so i picked up a larger hard drive an windows 7 due to the multiple issues vista was giving me. I finished installings windows 7 64 bit alittle while ago an now i'm stuck on drives i'm not sure where to go i figured windows 7 would kinda find most of them for me but my screens is i'm not sure how to discribe it it off color i guess you could say an nothing that use to work works anymore besides the sound an the mousepad/key board. Is there a site that i could find the drivers i need? please i would be very grateful for any help i drove my self nuts to just get it this far an now i'm stock with a half working laptop an i really dont want to go back to vista.

*update* Color fixed trackpad problems still an graphics card.

if the screen is off color then the gpu might be the problem your getting. my coworker had about the same problem your having with off color screen on a 7811fx. gateway told him the gpu was going so he went out and baked the motherboard in the oven. after all that work in putting the laptop back together it worked in the end. 9 months later it still works fine.

I'm not sure if saying off color was correct cause mean the icons an images are all correct but my windows frame is off like windows does not look correct. I'm missing a ton of drivers i'm pretty sure thats whats wrong.

*update* i fixed my windows problem now i'm just short on drivers for my trackpad an graphics card everything else seems to work at the moment.

Go to the nvidia website and download the correct graphics drivers, that will help the issues you are seeing. As for the rest of the drivers, run the updates for windows and see if that helps, if not go to gateways website and download them.
