Easy question to ask... may be hard to answer.
Can the 6860FX use some of the newer 12.5mm HDDs being released?... or am I stuck with the 9.5mm "form factor"?
I ask because Western Digital is releasing 1TB and 750GB 2.5" hard drives, but they're the thicker 12.5mm drives.
I guess I'd rather not buy a drive to test, so has anyone already done the testing???
Thanks!

9.5mm is what you're stuck with. You cant use the 12.5mm drives. Just hold easy before too long they will be in the standard 9.5mm cases

thanks and good to know.
I know they'll come down to the 9.5mm size sooner or later, but was curious.
Thanks again. -

no worries, i would love the flexibility of having a 12.5 drive, but the 9.5 isnt that bad. Perfect for a SSD and 500gigs of storage (probably a 1TB storage before we all know it
)
Gateway 6860FX (or similar models) HDD options?
