If your laptop works with an external monitor, then your GPU should be fine. From the images, it seems like a bad inverter board. Try re-seating or replacing the inverter board first. These boards usually cost $10-$20 if it needs replacing.

The inverter board is usually located on the systems board closest to the screen. You will most likely have to disassemble your top case assembly of the notebook to get to that area.

there is a cable on the right everytime i play with it changes the color of the lines making them darker. so i think it might be that cable or the lcd but i am unsure

It is not an inverter issue. Inverter powers up the backlight, which in result gives the LCD its brightness(light). From the looks of your pics, your LCD is lit up.

The problem is either the GPU or the LCD display. Being that you tested your laptop with an external monitor and it works, this means the problem is LCD.

Now, it could either be a problem with the cable from system board to LCD display or the LCD controller board the sits behind the LCD panel. The LCD controller board takes the signal from the GPU and draws the image on the LCD per pixel.

You can try reseating the cable where the cable meets the system board and where it meets the LCD controller board. If that doesn't work, then you have to replace the entire LCD display...

i think its the lcd. because i have this laptop hooked up my 17" lcd desktop display and it runs fine. no problems at all. i just wanted to make sure it was my gpu or the cable connecter on the motherboard
