Hey - I recently bought a 1 gig stick of RAM from newegg - specified as 200Pin DDR2 SODIMM. When I got it I tried fixing it in the externally accessible RAM slot but it turned out to be a bad fit. I compared it to my old RAM stick to find that was marginally longer and had one extra gold connector in the bottom.

Surprisingly the Gateway website lists 200 pin as the standard for the memory module on the 7405gx - their tech support refused to help unless the RAM was bought from Gateway themselves.

I need a RAM upgrade - can anyone confirm the exact and true specs for the 7405gx - is it 184 pin memory?

That is casue AMDs don't do DDR2 yet. It uses PC2700 DDR memory.
