I recently purchased a Gateway 7422GX and am having some trouble with it. If any of you can help it would be greatly appreciated.

So here's the deal, my dvd burner keeps disappearing from my system. It has happened twice now, once when I was attempting to burn my system restoration disks, and another time when I was ripping tracks from CDs. The first time I was able to get it back by booting to safe mode and removing the drive from my system (it did not appear in my device manager when I was logged in normally) and then it appeared again when I rebooted. The second time, I tried the same thing, but it is now no where to be found!

I don't know if any of this makes sense because it does not make sense to me, but if anyone can shed ANY light on this matter it would be greatly appreciated.
