Is anyone able to have a download of the ISO for the Gateway P-7805u laptop recovery disc with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit? I have blown away my recovery partition and am in need of restoring the PC to the factory settings to get rid of the laptop.

Or is there another way without having to repurchase Windows.

I tried that and they no longer have it unfortunately. They only keep the discs for 3 years.

Unfortunately it is against TOS of the site to discuss recovery disks or the like. While you may be the owner and all is honky dorry the same discussion could be used by others on stolen systems etc. Only Gateway can determine your elidgability for a new set of disks.

Your best bet is to create another admin account and erase all other data and programs you do not want transfered. Then use one of the programs out there to write ones or zero's to all free sectors. do this a few times before another defrag.

This is not a perfect solution but one that should work......................

Yea, called a clean install. Search the W7 forum for Digital River W7 Iso downloads. Legal as long as you use your key off the bottom of computer, and you will have to phone in to authorize. Comes in several flavors of windows.

I use the USB method so have one 4 gig usb stick locked and loaded for each of my laptops. Not a problem to make a bootable DVD. Use the MS USB/DVD tool. You need to collect your drivers first for a quick install.

    It's free :)
