Using 174.93, I received around 8200. Using Xfastest 177.85 drivers, I got a very nice score of 8600. All scores are stock.

hmmm if you have programs running when you run 3dmark does that make your score go lower?

With Vista 32 I got about 8906 and when I put XP on I got 9210. Ordered a X9100 so see if that makes a little difference

    Yes it does.
Basically turn off anything you don't need, turn off lights at home, take out all fuses, divert all power in the house your living in towards your flat, the usual stuff when you want to heat up your baby ;) (just kidding).

Turn off antivirus software, clean up running processes, etc.

    Regards,

    Elen

out of box = high 85xx
    xfastest mid 86xx
ultimate vista x64 + xfastest = 8750. Seems that ultimate vista works better for me.
OffTopic: Even oc'in is better with ultimate. Managed to get stable 9000 (650/830/1720), also 9300 (680/880/1770) stable.

edit: Tests were performed while kaspersky was on, also i did not do "task manager cleanup", so i guess i can achieve even better scores.

    edit2: ultimate x64 + xfastest + most programs closed = 8785.

I just flushed the toilet during my 3DMark benchmark. Do you think that will have any effect on it?

I put a brick inside the tank (forever green) and only flush it once a week. Let the neighbors complain ... I don't care ... the planet is more important.
