I just got the Tablet PC from a friend but apparently without me even touching it, it now seems to have major problems.

When the computer boots on and attemps to load windows I get the error message:

    Missing OS.

Fair enough, it's sat dormant for a few months so I went out and got a fresh copy of windows to install on it but the problem it WON'T boot from the CD. When it tries I get the "Missing OS" screen and 2 new error messages

PXE-E61: Media Test Failure, Check Cable
    PXE-M0F: Exiting Broadcom PXE Rom.

    Any ideas?

    1. while booting does the cd drive even make any sound / does it spin ?
    2. did you find anything in the bios to suggest the hdd is being recognized ?

yes, last night I heard it trying to spin but I didn't know if the CD was bad but apparently not. About the BIOS i have no idea I mean I"m in it right now but I can't really do a whole lot...maybe something internally is bad.

if you cant find anything that say your primary hdd is something like wd2500bevs etc then i would say either your drives internal connectors got loose, or some major damage to the mother board, anyway it will need to be serviced.
