Hey everyone. I been browsing these forums for about 2 hours and I've tried everything to get the audio to work, including rancids tutorial here:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=3871519&postcount=178

But it doesn't work because it's for 32 bit I guess.

Is there anyone out there that can help me with detail getting the audio to work? Including the audio thru HDMI because I used my 32"LCD HDTV with my laptop when at home.

The funny thing is, when I have my laptop hooked up to my tv thru HDMI, I get audio thru my TV but it sounds really computerized. But when I unplug the HDMI cable, no audio still from laptop speakers.

I can also take a movie of how the audio sounds thru the tv if that helps at all.

It would be great to have windows xp 64 bit working fully on my laptop if possible. Thanks for any help! I got EVERYTHING working except the audio. Even the webcam works..woot! I'm so close I can't give up now!

    ^^, hi there, I'm using 7805uFX too, what a laptop ^^, I love it.

I think that a monster like it should use windows 7. ^^, then install XP Mode ^^
If you'd like to use windows XP, then I don't have any experience in this OS, but some problems you encountered are just like me ^^, I'll post how I fixed them, just to reference ^^

Audio in HDMI is controlled by nVidia driver ^^.
Analog Audio is trickly ^^, you should go to conextant (or whatever, I don't remember this name :D) homepage to obtain driver ^^, as our lappy using this device

I dont believe there is an actual confirmed fix for this issue, for the most part if you want XP you're going to have to live with the issues it poses. Its a dead OS and you're going to find less and less hardware thats going to support it. Unfortunatly thats just the way the computer world works.

Well I've seen people get 32 bit on here working. But I'd rather use 64 if I could since the CPU supports it. So I guess using xp64 is hopeless on a 7805u? Freakin MS should have just kept improving XP, it was the best OS to date.

I guess I'll hafta deal with Vista. *sighs*
