My back fan on the FX P7811 is dieing, does anyone know of place I can buy a new fan to replace it? I also think my hard drive is failing as well, hearing these clicking sounds near the front left of in front of the keyboard that just started up. I really want to keep this laptop going a bit longer if possible. Any help would be great. Thanks

EDIT: if someone could let me know what fan/s I need to get that would be helpful as well. I found the breakdown guide but cant figure out what fan the CPU and GPU fan model info.

not too sure about GPU fan as i havent worked up the courage to dismantle my 7805u to the point where i can have a look it in person.

Dont see why it shouldn't work although dont take my word for it. Get a 2nd opinion.

thanks, luckily I got the extended coverage from BB when I bought it. I d/led speedfan and my temps are hot hot hot. Getting random shut downs after an hr of use. Im just not sure I want to give BB my machine, dont trust them to much.

Wouldnt hurt to use some compressed air to clean out the GPU vent if you havent already done so; certainly would help with lowering temps.

If you do go ahead with the disassembly, you could apply some ICD7 thermal compound onto the GPU and its mem chips to help with temps (gateway uses thermal pads). My GPU idles in the 45-47C range (OCed at 700/1700/900) and peaks around 78C under stress....that's with the stock thermal pads but other users have reported temp drops using ICD7 as an alternative.
