Cooking at 90c on full load on the most demanding game. I can hear the fan it just isn't going fast enough. I wanted to change the parameters for the fans but couldn't using Speedfan. It didn't support the gateway fx p78 motherboard (Intel 82801B ICH9). The only other option I can think of is updating bios thinking that it might have better fan settings to help out.
I downloaded and extracted the bios file. Before I go ahead and try to flash it, are you supposed to be able to open the .exe file? I tried to just to check if it would work and it did not. Is that normal?
If you have any other suggestions for lowering my cpu temp ill appreciate it, thanks.
Edit: I'm surprised that the BIOS update came out so recently. Sorry for posing the most redundant questions ever. Still, many people are having problems. If any of you gateway users firgured out how to use Speedfan on the p78...
