I have a P-7809u. Titles says it all. When i play Minecraft my Gateway IMV according to HW monitor is at 98C. It only takes about 20-30 minutes to get to that temp. My processor graphics card and harddrive is not as hot probably around 70-80c. Should i be worried cause i play for about 2 hour sessions before i let it cool.

I'd definitely say that 98C is too hot. Thermal shutdown is at 105C. You should definitely raise the back of your laptop or get a cooler. Undervolting your CPU would also help a lot. BTW you don't want your hard drive to go over 55C.

A good idea would be to open up your laptop and take a look at the fan/cooling assembly to see if there's a lot of dust clogged in there--that could raise your temperatures significantly.

I have a wooden block that kicks the back up for better air. But i have not cleaned with compress air yet so i might try that. What is the the IMV?

You can clean the CPU fan manually by unscrewing the plastic in the back. Truthfully I don't know what IMV stands for but it pretty much measures the CPU temp.

This cannot be stressed enough. My laptop's heat problems immediately went away after a thorough cleaning using a can of air and new thermal paste. Graphics card temperatures would hit 95C but after cleaning it out through the vents, it only hit 75C after a few hours of gaming.

Your hard drive temperatures are too hot as well. They should be hitting 60C max.
