Just bought this badboy from Bestbuy two days ago. This is hardly a "Review" yet but thus far I'll note a few initial concerns/joys.

    Pros
    Great screan bright and crisp
Nice keyboard easy to use and large
    Wi-Fi connection is great
The machine is FAR zippier under Vista basic then most would expect.

    Concerns/Possible cons

Heat is higher then normal for a netbook ( i think largely due to the CPU used) I will run some numbers at a later point.

Battery rubber feet were uneven and caused the netbook to wobble when typing (replaced the feet myself)

Battery life not as impressive as ASUS

Screen a bit hard to unlatch at times.

If people are more interested in this model I will happily write something more in depth. Or if you have a specific question/Benchmark/Game you would like me to try ask and i will do my best to accommodate you.

I'm highly interested in picking this little guy up as I'm without my own home computer for almost a month and just fell in love with it at Best Buy.

How well does it play source games (Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, etc). I think a lot of us are wondering about Valve games running off of the Source engine. I'm hoping this puppy can run most Source games at 1280x768 or native resolution with low-medium settings. I think it would be just grand!

Any other gaming tests would be great. I'm wondering if a small overclock on this netbook's highly underclocked GPU would help at all.

You wont be able to play any of the source games very well. I have one and left 4 dead plays at ~10-15 fps at lowest resolution and settings.... so yeah only games that are a few years old will play well (ala Warcraft 3, WoW, Max Payne, Emulators?) :)

Overclocking the CPU to 1.6ghz makes a big difference in a lot of things, but the GPU is severely underclocked and I have yet to find a way to raise it.

And demaroco005, you should have a emergency partion on your HDD, did you erase that too?

The 3103u indeed has a recovery partition on it.

left 4 dead is a seriously more challenging game to play, i only play it on medium with my laptop when i can crank half life 2, portal and css to max settings with some aa. can you try like hl2 and see how it runs?
