I have a gateway m-6827 laptop and it seems unable to burn my videos onto dvd+r discs.
Windows recognizes that there is a writable dvd in my disc drive and videos are encoded with MPEG4.
In Windows DVD Maker, when it reaches 99%, it says there was an error and it can't continue.
I read that this stage is the actual burning process, and since it also failed in windows media center, it has led me to believe that my laptop has a problem burning dvds.
Can anyone help?

Try using Nero.

I'm not sure if its the programs fault. Has anyone encountered a problem like this?

Not on any of my Gateways or for that matter PCs. Process of elimination bro, try different software. It might be an easy fix. Plus there are tons of FREE softwares for your usage.

a free dvd burner for media being what? I'm willing to try anything.
