Owner of a year old M series Gateway laptop (MT3419). Dual Core 1.6ghz

I have been experiencing difficulty with the laptop re-awakening after hibernation. No video. When I reboot, still nothing. I see it goes throgh the motion of POST, but I do not see it on the screen. I do not get the POST, and I do not see the hard drive light up.

Also, the battery shows it is in a charging mode, and that is the way it stays. The charge status light never changes from red to blue. So, I think that there is a problem with the battery. I removed the battery and just run it on AC power. Still does not POST.

Any ideas before I take it for service? The warenty was up in June.
