I am guessing it is to new of model and that is why I can't find any reviews on it.

What kind of problems does Gateway have these days? Does anyone have suggestions for other good laptops in the $599-$699 price range?

I'm getting this for my mom which does graphics work, so video card doesn't really matter, more memory, better cpu and hd space are the main concerns. So want at least a C2D (No AMD TY), 2GB, 160GB for this price. The Acer 5920 is good, but she doesn't like the keyboard. Oh and has to be a 15.4".

i bought a Gateway M-6824 from office depot about three months ago and LOVE IT....

not sure what differences between mine and the one you are asking about...

but mine came with 3GB of RAM and all the usual stuff you get on PC's....

the one thing i am real picky about is the keyboard...and the keyboard on the Acer, Dell and Toshiba SUCK..in my opinion.....

i got mine for about 800 bucks and the extra gig of ram is really worth it, plus im running wireless-n on it via an express card from D link....

Gateway, IMO has the best look, feel and function of all the laptops i looked at before buying this one..and i looked at them ALL...believe me.....

the only other laptop i would have bought would have been the HP....the keyboard on the HP was actually a little "slicker" than the Gateway, but the extra gig of RAM really sold me on the Gateway...its a great laptop

edit: i almost forgot....the one thing i do NOT like about the Gateway is the speakers.....they SUCK, big time!!!! not that laptop speakers are supposed to be surround sound, home theater quality, but compared to other laptops Gateway definitely takes a back seat.....thankfully that was the least important thing to consider for me, i just hook up my Bose satellite system via the headphone jack and im good

i agree that the gateway speakers arent the best. ^^

about the extra ram its cheaper if u buy the RAM and install it yourself

best looking laptops today are gateway and HP imo.
