Does anyone have a Gateway M-6843 readily available that they can open up their DEVICE MANAGER and look under NETWORK ADAPTERS, and tell me what they see there?
The system is VISTA Home Premium.
Someone dinkered with the system and lost the NETWORK ADAPTERS for it. I don't have access to the install disks for the machine. So, I don't know the brand of mother board or WIFI.
I need to know if it is INTEL or Realtek or other, so I can install the proper drivers.
I can hard line the PC with cable, but the WIRELESS isn't operating. My Wireless router is not the problem (It works fine).
    Thank You,
    LOLA

P.S. Warranty is expired and Gateway is of no help (They sent me the drivers for the sytem but they did not work). If I had the installation disks, I would use them but I am flying blind

Download BelArc Advisor and run it. It will tell everything about your comp.

I actually pulled the card out and checked it. Everything is running properly in the device manager now under Network Adapters. The mini-PC is INTEL PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. Updated drivers are installed.
Still can't get it to connect (wireless).

It says that there is a hardware problem or driver problem.
Do you think that I should just pick up a new Intel Module?
I tried just about everything to make it pick up the wireless modem that is not more than three feet away from it.

    Thanks,
    LOLA

    Just for curiosities sake.

Have you tried Fn+F2? You might have accidently turn off your receiver

Yes, I know about Fn+F2. Thanks for the thought though. I think I'll just get another Wireless Module to cram in there. I've spent way too much time trying to make it operate.
