    Hello everyone.

My laptop won't display anything. I have tried the power reset trick to no avail (remove battery and cord, hold power button 60 sec., plug in, turn on). There is no display when powering on (not even the BIOS splash screen).

There is no graphics card, it has Intel integrated graphics.

The lights on the laptop buttons are lit when powered on and I hear the fan running.

I have tried hitting fn+F4 to output to a monitor rather than the laptop screen both when first powering on the laptop and after waiting for a few minutes but nothing outputs to the monitor.

I reseated the RAM, tried just one RAM chip then the other; also to no avail. I tried to see if it would boot to a Memtest86+ CD and display from that (I didn't think that would work considering I can't even see the pre-boot BIOS screen, but was grasping at straws by that point). I also tried a Windows install CD. Neither CD helped.

Barring some misunderstanding on my part of the functionality of displaying to an external monitor (maybe it will only work if I am logged into an operating system?) I fear the problem may be the motherboard/integrated graphics.

I tried googling this problem and checked these forums but have been unsuccessful in finding anything that would help me diagnose the problem. Does anyone have any words of wisdom that might help me?

    Thanks.
