I bought my daughter a Gateway M250X and it is having a very peculiar problem. Perhaps an expert out here in the forum has some ideas. When the machine has been used for some time it starts giving memory error boxes and I can't get McAfee virus scan to start and keep running. It also takes a long time to reboot after it has been run a long time and, upon reboot, did not actually make it to her settings. Also, at times it just gives the blue screen of death and reboots on its own.

As I said, all of this seems somewhat ok after it is turned off and not used.

Has anyone else seen similar problems with this model or another machine? Does this sound like overheating or a software problem?

    Give me your thoughts!

    Thanks!

    Mike

I do not have these problems with mine, sounds like a software issue.

Sounds like it might be a heating problem to me. How new is the notebook? Have you tried blowing out the vents with compressed air?

Feel the case when it's giving you these errors and see if there are any places on it that are abnormally hot. It seems like the hard drive or RAM might be overheating.
