    Hi guys,

I have a Gateway M465E with C2D 1.83mhz. I would like to know if I could upgrade to a faster processor, which one and if it would be worth the effort. Still with XP Pro,2 gig PC5300, 250gig samsung HD,

upgrades on on processor depend on the SOCKET. Find out what socket you have (google the motherboard or your current processor) , then google that socket to see what other processors use that same socket.

Sometimes a cpu change makes a huge difference if you got the first generation of processor for a socket, becauzse they made a number of better processors that fit that socket.

Sometimes you happen to get the last processor they made for a particular socket, and there are no better cpu's out there!
