Comes with a Core 2 Duo T5750 3GB of ram, 320GB hard drive Vista Home Premium and I also have a $40 off coupon for a grand total of $589.99+tax with free shipping. It has integrated graphics.

I use AMEX so the one year warranty becomes two years. My previous notebooks were a Thinkpad T43 and and Currently a Toshiba Core Duo with 80gb ram and 15.4 monitor.

Is this a good deal? The notebook looks slick. Can I upgrade to 64-bit Vista at no charge if I want to?

I just need something with a large hard drive to run my business with. I have a Quad Core 3.6GHz desktop with an 8800gt for graphics and gaming.

Need feedback quick, my coupon expires tomorrow :)

Since you don't intend to game on it, it should work. Not sure if you want a bright red laptop for work though.

If the laptop were pink, I would probably pass. BestBuy has a blue version with different specs. Acer used to build Ferrari Red laptops maybe they still do.

I have my own business, so I only have to answer to my ego. My ego tells me I can handle red. ;)

LOL. I'd say go for it then. I had a red 1631 for a bit and it actually looks pretty good. Much better in person than in pictures.

A red Gateway M152S is rated a "best buy" in Consumer Reports 15.4" budget category. The rated notebook had 160gb hard drive, Core 2 Duo T5550, Intel x3100 integrated graphics and a battery life of 4.25 hours.

I'm going to pull the trigger on the Office Max unit.

The M6847 is a great budget machine. I successfully removed most of the bloatware. However, I cannot figure out how to remove the NetZero, AOL, Ebay an Norton software at the welcome screen.

I removed the Norton Trial successfully and the Microsoft Works and Office trials.

When I boot up the welcome screen with options still shows the above NetZero, AOL, Ebay an Norton software

There is no removal icon in the add/remove programs in the control panel.
