    Gateway MA7 laptop boot problems

    my hard drive went out. i purchased anothr one, when i go to install xp pro on it, , it copies the files and when the scren comes up for me to click enter to install a fresh install of xp pro. the next window that comes up says , cant find a hard disc on my computer, what am i doing wrong, i have never had this problem with any other computer i have owned. it recognises the hard drive because i even installed a older win 98 and it installed fine but it wont let me install xp pro, i have a gig of ram and a 160 gig hard drive,i have about pulled what little hair i have out. please help/ thanks Don

    my gateway ma8 did the same thing I have been trying to reinstall vista for almost 2 months did you get any answers?
