    Gateway ML6720, Vista black screen after memory upgrade

    Gateway ML6720. Put in two 1 GB sticks & reboot. BIOS sees the memory. Booting to VISTA and it just hangs at a black screen.

    Windows diag memory tool just hangs. Any ideas?

    Try the sticks individually to see if one's defective.

    Yep, one stick worked & one didn't. Back to BestBuy again. Last time they forgot to put the power cord in the box when they did the "software optimizations".
