My roommate's laptop seems to have a strange problem. The laptop will work fine for a few days and then all of a suddenly won't boot. It gets to the gateway splash screen and then gets stuck.

When I pop in memtest86+ it shows a whole bunch of memory errors. But when I restart the laptop and run memtest86+ again those errors are gone and the laptop boots up in Vista fine again until it refuses to start a few days later again.

Anyone ever had this problem? Or know what's going on? Gateway says they swapped out the motherboard out last time we send it in. But I'm not too sure they did this. Since their CSR can't find in their system what they did to it...

If the ntoebook has two modules of RAm currently installed, then I would suggest to try and remove one and montitor the behavious of the notebook. If that doesn't help, then try removing the other RAM module, and keep the previous one.
