    Gateway MT6711 - T2080 943GML... CPU upgrade?

    Title pretty much says it all.

    I've got a nice Gateway MT6711 laptop that came with the Intel Dual Core T2080.

    I've read the 943GML chipset is locked at 533MHz FSB though that was read in an old post here on the forums.

    I do know 533MHz FSB Core2 Duo chips do exist but haven't tried one just yet.

    Any ideas?

    T7600 is the fastest option for 667MHz FSB laptops... so the answer is no, it's not gonna work with 533MHz FSB

    But in that link I posted above from this forum says the 943GML supports the T7600. That chipset is 533MHz FSB only...?

    Also confused on which would be faster between the T2450 and the T5300. Both have the same cache and the T2450 is a 2GHz vs the 1.73 T5300. What makes the T5300 better?
