This laptop is seven months old, and as of last Friday, I had this strange problem where I got a hard drive not found message. Of course, I cannot boot windows XP either ! It happened in a split second. Up until that point, everything was working pretty well..although the internet connection was a bit slow. All I know about computers are what an IP address is, a default gateway, a subnet mask, how to mask IP addresses, how to determine someone elses IP address, how to ping, how to surf anonymously, what proxy servers are, that a hard drive can be formatted, that there are trojan horse viruses, that there are keylogger hacking programs, and not much else. oh, and I can insert the XP cd and reload the operating system.

If someone could help me to decide if I actually need to send the laptop back under warrantee and get a new hard drive, among other things, that would be wonderful.

    Thanks !
