i bought this laptop used. Overall it works great. Im not tooo pc literate. SORRY

    Problem
harddrive was replaced and I assumed everything was loaded back on. I have no recovery CDs. THe laptop did do a recovery after I pressed F11.

Specific problem is battery monitor does not work. It will not appear on the task bar. I also cannot set any alarms bc there is no tab for it.

    Device manager indicates
Microsoft Composit battery (with yellow exclamation point)
says windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
click troubleshoot ...... that got me nowhere

Driver tab- tried to update driver,,,wizard could not find a better match...GEEZ

Detail tab has a list of stuff Ive never heard of

I have gone to gateways web site, downloaded some kind of update for downloads and when i ran it nothing happened. Then I looked for battery drivers and didnt find any.

    Can anyone help me?

    Thanks
