Hey just purchased the Gateway MX6750
    http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Q106/MystiqueC/6244nv.shtml
Anyways its good in performace terms, however while playing counter-strike, it seemed i blew my speakers? my left speaker sounds very distorted. Like i cannot hear anything, and my right no longer works. I tried to lower the volume, howver the volume keys (pgUp, pgDn) didnt work. At first the left speaker got really distored (something rattling) so i switch all voulume to the right, and then it stopped working, now i have an extremly distorted left speaker, and no right. I cant even listen to music, msn sounds..or anything.
Did this ever happen to anyone else? or with the speaker volume not changing? any reviews on this machine?

    Thanks

You may have blown your speakers. Try using a pair of headphones, if your still getting sounds you know then for sure that its speaker related.
BTW, I myself, use external speakers or headphones for high volumes.

Try updating your audio drivers. Otherwise, you probably blew your speakers  I honestly didn't think that blowing laptop speakers would be easy.

It was actually amazingly easy to blow the speakers. I played counter-strike for about 10min, and both were gone, was quite amazed. Going to go to best buy and exchange it right now. Bought it yesterday :p good ol 15 day policy! :D

Lol reason i wasnt playing with headphones is becuase i jus got the notebook. And was testing its performance. I always play on my desktop with my $100 headphones/mic, but i feel its a big hassle to unplug them from my desktop, and carry them around with my notebook :p Ill only be playing games on my notebook when im on the move or if the gf is on the desktop >.<

But i went and returned the notebook with no problems, and so far, 1 day down, and i still got the speakers :p
