I got this laptop in October, my first laptop ever. About 3 weeks ago, my cats broke my power cord and I got a new one off of eBay that came in on Friday. I had a little trouble getting the cord to work but then got it working. The computer worked for a couple days but then today before I went to work, I left for a little bit and came back and the screen was totally frozen. I couldn't do anything. So I removed the power cord and battery to shut it off and tried to start up, and got a BSOD . So then I tried Startup Repair and all it does is go to the gateway loading screen and then goes blank for awhile, then a mouse appears. But nothing else.

I don't know what to do and this is relly getting frustrating. Can anyone help me?

Edit: When doing startup repair (again) a Gateway Please Wait Screen came up. Then an error message came up (AND JUST NOW WENT AWAY BEFORE I COULD TYPE IT) I can't remember what it said.

The GPW screen is still up, if that helps anyone.

Edit 2: The computer suddenly restarted at the GPW screen and I clicked Start Windows Normally. I then got the BSOD again.

Use the recovery discs that came with the machine.

I can't remember if I got those or not. I gotta look around for them. Thanks for the help.

I found it and it says Startup Repair is working now. Thanks for all your help :).

Glad to see you got it working. But, I must ask. How big are your cats? :eek2:
