I recently bought a used Gateway M-Series laptop. I need the model number to order recovery disks. I can find nothing that matches the model numbers on restoredisks.com. Here is what information I found on the bottom of the laptop.

    MFG DATE: 2008/09/16
    SNID: 83800219825
    P/N: 1SA60000024
    LXW: 220X0038008962500
    SA6.0

Is there some way I can use this information to get the model number?

why bother with restore disks? Windows 7 and the drivers from gateway's site should suffice.
According to Drivers & Downloads and inputting your SNID (83800219825), you have a Gateway M-73 laptop.

this seems to have come with Vista, but again, using any Windows 7 disc will get you the most luck. Gateway has 64-bit Vista drivers for this model on their site, these will work fine in 7 64-bit.

the issue with getting restore discs is that you also get the bloatware the computer came with in 2008, and the system will need a lot more upgrading than you could possibly imagine-- two service packs and lots of hours worth of headaches. you could even do a stock install of Vista with SP2 with this information and be fine as well, but Vista is so much more I/O heavy than Windows 7 is. my only suggestion is to make sure you have at least 4GB of RAM. your model class seems to support that much in the form of DDR2-667.

You can even do Windows 8.1 which won't be pushing the hardware at all, just to put that out there.
