    Gateway NV4403h broken LCD

    A friend dropped off his Gateway NV4403h because his LCD is broken. Here's a picture to illustrate the problem. As you can see it doesn't look good. Quite a deal of flickering which the picture doesn't show like it's set at 10Hz or something. Any idea what the culprit may be? The computer is fine connected to an external display. I was thinking maybe the inverter but I have the service manual and there is no mention of an inverter whatsoever. Backlight would appear to be ok as well. Could it be a cable or is the panel toast? I'll be looking to ebay for parts, so the cheaper the solution the better.
