Hey everybody, new here and just a little question.

Right above the keyboard on the laptop, you have the touch screen buttons. Such as your volume up, down, deactivate mouse pad, wireless etc.

When i bought the laptop, in mid-February this year whenever i would hit volume up a little display would come up on my screen showing how many bars i have of volume.

Now when i hit the volume up or down or mute, the button above the keypad still turns red showing you hit it, but i don't have that display on my laptop screen itself showing the volume has gone up.

Any way to fix this? I know its a little problem, or not even one at all to worry about but i love having that little thing pop up on my screen. Stopping working about 3-4months ago.

Yeah this is called a volume on-screen display (OSD). With Vista I used this thing called Microsoft Intellitype Pro that showed the volume OSD and it let your media keys work for programs like iTunes, even when they are minimized. However today I upgraded to Windows 7 and got the version of Intellitype for Win7 and unfortunately the media keys were specific to windows media player and actually pressing the play button would open WMP so I uninstalled it and don't have an OSD right now. There are others out there, but they generally use some amount of CPU. BTW if you get Intellitype define your keyboard as a "media keyboard".
