    Gateway P-172s FX turns off while gaming.

    I picked up Tropico 3, and my laptop turns off after about 30 minutes of gaming.

    It's got an Intel T5750 cpu, GeForce 8800m GTS, and 3GB ram. All my drivers are updated.

    I even elevated the back for more airflow, turned down the game to the bare minimum, and still no improvement.

    I really dont have any other games to test, as I bought most of the big hits on PS3 instead. I used to play WoW on max settings (quit that game), and Age of Empires 3, but they're not exactly ground breaking.

    Should I upgrade the CPU and get some AS5? Seems kind of silly for 1 game, but I'm more pissed about my "gaming" laptop crapping out on Tropico 3... I remember buying this and adds saying play Crysis on this etc...

    I know it's a few years old, but still. Something seems terribly wrong. I've only had this since Fall 2008.

    Just tried cleaning the vents with air... Not much came out. I'll give it another shot.
